BOROUGH ELECTIONS.
TE AROHA. The result of the election of .Mayor at Te Aroha was as follows: —James Mills, 146; Samuel L. Hirst, 119; informal, 2. .Mr. Mills was duly elected. On the. declaration of the poll both candidates briefly returned thanks. The election of three councillors resulted as follows:—David McL. Wallace, 167; Patrick o'Meagher,' 140; John W. -May, 124. The unsuccessful candidates were: Alfred B. Price, 119; David Barbour, 96; William H. Windsor, 81. WAixll. [BY. TELEGRAM.— OWN' CORRESPONDENT, Waihi, Thursday. The Mayoral election resulted in Mr. Walte; H. Phillipr being again elected by a majority of 27?/ votes, the numbers . being, Phillips £13, Dawson Donaldson 545, informal 4. Altogether 1367 votes were recorded. Enthusiastic cheers were given for the winning candidate. The Waihi Brass Band played from the polling booth to the Rob Roy Hotel, and from the balcony both candidates returned thanks to rhei.- supporters., [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wbstpoht, Thursday. The Mayoral election resulted: Scanlon, 458; Marshall, 426. Nelson, Thursday. The Mayoral election resulted in the reelection of Mr. H. Baigent, by a majority of 357 votes over Mr. Piper, who polled 367. GBETMOUTH, Thursday. Mr. Matheson was elected Mayor by a majority of 93 over Mr. Steer. Dunkdix, Thursday. Mr. ohetwin was elected for South Dunedin, Mr. Hodges for St. Kilda, and Mr. Duncan for North-east Valley.
