THE CITY LOAN.
At the meeting of the City Council last night, tenders were opened for the third instalment of £10,000 of the £100.000 city loan. Tenders were for £100 debentures, and those opened amounted to £9700, whilst an offer was also received from a bank to take up the balance unsubscribed jib par. The loan was thus fully subscribed. The amounts tendered for were as follows:—£1200 at 5s per cent, premium ; £200 at 2s 6d per cent, premium ; £3700 at 6d per cent, premium; £4900 at par.
