SUICIDE AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

VICTIMS HEAD BLOWN OFF. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] New Plymouth, Wednesday. A man named Neil Neilson, aged 27. a casual boarder at the Taranaki Hotel, committed suicide in his bedroom at the hotel last night. He placed a dynamite cartridge in his mouth and attached ii lighted fuse. His brains and the upper part of the skull were scattered over the wall, the force of the explosion breaking some of the window panes in the room. Deceased was a single man, and it is believed that his relations live near l'ahiatiui. At the inquest held to-day a verdict was returned to the effect that '"Deceased committed suicide while in a fit of temporary insanity."
