A. AND P. ASSOCIATIONS.

♦ [BY TELEGRAIMT. —PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Palmeeston North, Saturday. The annual meeting of the A. and P. Association was held to-day. There was a large and representative attendance. Mr. Batchelor, the retiring.president, in his address said most of the main sources of revenue had increased, and the expenditure had not grown in anything like the same ratio. The membership showed a slight fulling off. Ho defended the action of the association in not taking up the winter show proposed on financial grounds, urging that it was not wise to depart from the present, safe lines of development until they were clear of the incubus of debt. On the question of holding a three days' show Mr. Batchelor urged its continuance, but only requiring the stock- to be present for two days, the first day being taken up with sheep dog trials and other competitions. Ho announced, that as a means of cementing the interests of Wellington and Manawatu it had been decided to establish a trophy competition at the Palmerston Show to ho called "' Citizens of Wellington Trophy." The election of president resulted in Mr. 11. Gillies being elected against Mr. R. 8. Abraham. Practically the whole of the old committee were re-elected. During the discussion on the question of the three days' show, Mr. Wheeler stated that a compromise, would probably be arranged witii the objecting exhibitors by an alteration in the method of judging. Diverse opinions were expressed on the advisability of holding a winter show, the general feeling being adverse until proper buildings are erected. Colonel Gorton suggested an alteration in the method of judging the jumping competitions, on the lines adopted at the Dub :in Horse Show. * .
