Tisdale. of Wellington, were passengers to San Francisco by the mail steamer Ventura on Saturday, en route to Europe.

Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowry, ot Hawke's Bay, were passengers to San Francisco by the mail steamer Ventura on Saturday, en route to Europe.

John- ■ stone, the retiring manager of the Auckland Farmers' Co-operative Society, Limited, was the recipient of a presentation from the era- ] ployees of the company. Mr. J. A. Carran handed Mr. Johnstone a beautifully mounted amber cigarette holder and case, ; and in doing so said it was given as a token of the goodwill and esteem in which the late manager was held by himself and fellowemployees. Mr. Johnstone! suitably returned thanks.
