The Daily Mail states that the Basler Credit Gesellschaft of Switzerland,- a leading financial institution, has failed, the failure being attributed to speculations resulting in losses amounting to a million and sihalf sterling on the Paris Bourse. Grob, the manager, and Hoehinger, the cashier, have been arrested. Thousands have been ruined by the failure, chiefly in South Germany.
