A deputation of citizens waited on Sir Joseph Ward on Saturday evening, and urged that the Government give a grant to the relief ship Morning, being sent out for the Discovery expedition. Sir Joseph Ward said he favoured asking Parliament for a grant, and would ask his colleagues to favourably consider the matter.
