KAURI GUM MARKET.

The heavy rain mentioned in our last report has been almost continuous during the past three week. Tin's will effectually put a stop to the digging in low-lying: lands, the immediate effect will be a return by the digger to the winter fields. The supply lias not been as heavy as last reported, and it is improbable that it will continue— during the winter months—at as high a figure as reported to-day. The market cannot be reported any easier since the last mail left. Good steady business has been done at fully up to recent values, and there seems to be no immediate prospect of lower prices ruling. All good gums meet with a ready sale, also most of the poorer grades. Very little remains in the hands of brokers for any length of time. Nearly the whole of the stocks held here are in the hands of shippers.
