MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
Mr. 'Alfred Kjdd, the "present Mayor Auckland, has been returned unopposed for another term of office. Mr. Kidd was nominated by Dr. J. Logan Campbell and Mr. George Higgins. Mr. R. T. Warnock was returned unopposed is mayor of Grey Lynn. Mr Malcolm Niccol, Mayor of Devonport, leaves here for' Wellington on Sunday next. His successor is Mr. E. W. Alison, who has been nominated by Mr. M. Niccol and Mr. J. Walker. Mr. F. Trembath was on Monday nominated for the Thames Mayoralty. Mr. R. W. Dyer being the only one nominated for the office of Mayor of the Borough of Hamilton, has been declared duly elected. Mr. A. Y. Ross, the returning officer, received on April 21 nominations from two candidates for Waihi Mayoralty, viz., Mr. Walter Horatio Phillips, at present holding office, and Mr. Dawson Donaldson. The election will be held on Wednesday, the 30th inat. Nominations for the office of Mayor of the Borough of Onehnßga closed at noon on Saturday. Mr. Donald A. Sutherland (the present Mayor) was nominated by Mess I). Neilson, W. Colledge, 8. Keogh. and J. Laking. Mr. Sutherland being the only person nominated, he was declared duly elected for the ensuing year. Our Whangarei correspondent announces Mr. W. Corns, J.P., has been returned Mayor of Whangarei unopposed. New Plymouth, Monday. Mr. Edward Dockrill was to-day re-elected Mayor unopposed. This is his fifth term. Wajjoanui, Monday. Mr. Alexander Hatrick has been returned unopposed for the Mayoralty.
Wellington*, April 18. Mr. Aitken has been re-elected unopposed ,88 Mayor of Wellington.
Invehcakoill. April 18. Mr. C. S. Longuet has' been -v elected Mayor of Invercargill unopposed. llokitika, April 18. Mr. H. L. Michel has been re-elected Mayor unopposed for the seventh term. Napier, April 19. Mr. F. W. Williams, chairman of the Harbour Board, is announced a.s a candidate for the Mayoralty, and Mr. H. P. Cohen retires in his favour. Chbistchtjrch, April 19. Mr., H. F. Wigrani has been nominated for Mayor of the city of Christchurch.
Oamaru, April 19. Mr. Allan Hedley, the present Mayor, has been re-elected for another term unopposed. Pxlmerstox North, Saturday.
Mr. W. T. Wood, the present Mayor, has announced his intention of contesting the Mayoralty at next election.
Hokitika, Sunday. Mr. Joseph Grimmond, ex-M.H.R., has been returned unopposed as Mayor of Ross.
Hawkra, April 23. Mr. Bobbins, for many year a. councillor, was returned unopposed for the Mayoralty. i CHBISTCHT7BCH, April 23. Mr. H. F. Wigram has been elected unopposed as Mayor of Christchurch.
