STATEMENT BY MR. CHAMBERLAIN. (Received April 24, 12.25 a.m.) London, April 23. Mr. Chamberlain, replying to Mr. Harmsworth, member for Caithness, said he was not aware, despite inquiries, that there was any law of the late Transvaal Republic requiring the peace delegates to submit proposed terms of peace to commandos in the field.
