AUCKLAND CITY LOAN.

The Auckland City Council decided last night to call tenders for this year's £10.000 instalment of the 1899 loan, which it will be remembered was £100,000 to be raised in instalments. • The Finance Committee reported that they had approved of a recommendation from' the town clerk that tenders be called for this year's £10,000 instalment of the 1899 loan, that the debentures be for £100 each, the principal and interest payable in Auckland at the National Link with the option to the holder to have payment made in London or Sydney on giving three months' notice, and that the tenders be receivable on May 1, the loan to be issued as on May 16. This report was adopted without discussion. The interest is four per cent, per annum as on the last loan.
