The mail steamer Sonoma, Captain K. Vtt<n Oterendorp, arrived from Sydney at 6 a.m. on Saturday, and anchored in the stream for medical and Customs examination, on the conclusion of which she was admitted .to pratique, and berthed at the Queen-street Wharf at 8.45 a.m. r : Mr. G. A. Hodson, the purser, reports:—The Sonoma left Sydney at 1.28 p.m., and cleared Port Jackson Heads at 2.17 p.m. on Tuesday last; passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 3 p.m., and rounded the North Cape at 4.20 p.m. on Friday, reaching port as above. Fresh to strong winds from south-east to east, with rough seas, prevailed .throughout the passage. The Sonoma resumed her voyage to Pago Pago, Honolulu, and San Francisco at 2 p.m. on Saturday. THE ELINGAMITE. The 'Huddart-Parker steamer Elingaipite is due from Sydney this morning, and will anchor in the stream for the usual medical and Customs inspection. The steamer proceeds ■to East Coast and Southern ports to-morrow afternoon. TRANSHIPMENTS. The Zealandia, -which arrived from the South yesterday morning, brought up a quantity, of transhipments pel s.s. Aotea, from London, s.s. Kobe from >Jew York, and ship Auckland from Liverpool. THE ZEALANDIA. The Huddart-Parker steamer Zealandia, Captain W. M. Hipgrave, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports at 10 a.m. yesterday, having made a- fine run up from Gisborne of 22 hours. The steamer during the time she has been on the coast this time has carried the largest number of passengers between ports that she has ever done, the accommodation being taxed to its utmost, limits. On her present trip the Zealandia brings a large number of passengers in both classes, of whom 110 landed at Auckland, whilst she has 62® tons of cargo for this port, including 250 tons of railway material shipped at Lyttelton. Of the passage, Mr. Speakman, the purser, reports that the steamer left Darned in on Tuesday last, and called at Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, leaving the latter port at noon on Saturday,' and arriving as above. Experienced fine weather with calm sea, and light variable winds, on the trip. The Zealandia is berthed at the Railway Wharf, and proceeds on to Sydney at 5.30 p.m. to-day. ■ . THE ALDEBABAN. The barque Aldebaran has arrived at Melbourne from ICaipara, and on discharge of her cargo of timber will load stone cubes for Auckland, for the electric tramways. THE WHANG APE. The Union Company's steamer Whangape. Captain Hull, arrived at 12 o'clock last night from Calcutta and Singapore, and anchored in the stream to await medical and Customs inspection. * Dr. E. W. Sharman. the port health officer, will proceed off. to the steamer early this morning, and if everything is in order -will grant pratique, and she will be berthed at Quay-street Jetty No. 2.
