MILITARY BOARD OF INQUIRY.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Tauranga, Saturday. A Military Board of Inquiry, consisting of Major Pirie and Captains Clemens and Napier, was engaged all day in making an inquiry into the state and working of the Tauranga Mounted Rifles and its pecuniary position. For some time the corps has not been working harmoniously, and the discontent has culminated in an official inquiry. The Board sat with closed doors, and a number of witnesses were examined, and it is expected it will be Monday before the inquiry. closes. Considerable public interest is taken in the matter, and, in fact, it forms the whole talk of the town.
