COLOMBIAN REVOLUTION.
■ DESPERATE NAVAL ENGAGEMENT. ■ FIVE VESSELS SUNK. GOVERNOR ALBAN KILLED. By Telegraph— Association.—Copyright. (Received January 22, 12.32 a.m.) New York, January 21. The revolutionary vessels Padilla, Darien and Gaitau attempted to force a landing at Sabina, in Panama Bay. The Colombian Government vessals, Lantara and Chicuato, assisted by guns from Lasboveda, resisted. The Padilla attacked the Lantara at close quarters, burning and sinking her after the crew had deserted. The superintendent of the Panama railway has cabled to New York that three insurgent and two Government vessels were sunk. Governor Alban was killed during the engagement. [Governor Carlos Alban was commander of the Government troops' and Governor of the Department of Panama.]
