[BY' telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Tuesday. Sdward Botiman, aged 66, died suddenly Rst night from failure of the heart's action. . During last year 1841 males and 219 females were arrested for drunkenness in Wellington, as against 920 males and 245 females in the previous year. During the same period 3481 plaints were issued by the S.M. Court, and 2748 cases tried. The aggregate amount sued for was £45,065, of which £22,395 was recovered. ■■,-,:.'.-" •..• , Westport, Tuesday. The surplus revenue last vear, over and above the , amounts . chargeable against revenue accounts, were as follows: . —Advance to. special fund account for works, £15,050 8s lOd; cash in bank at ■ !; 108 of year—harbour fund account, £3799 14 7d; special rate on coal account, £1457 Is; total, £20,307 sd.
