Last night's audience at the Opera House were greatly disturbed shortly after the commencement of " Mrs. Dane's Defence"' by a band (believed -to be that of the Salvation Army), which went past up Weliesley-streefc playing with all the force at its command. The . din lusted for some minutes, and as there was a scene going on upon the stage,: which demanded attention,, the , result was most annoying, riot only to those in front but also to the performers. This is by no means' the first time that such a thing has occurred,; and the municipal authorities should see that this ..baud, > which is only allowed to play in tho streets by courtesy, should be prevented from Shaking itself a nuisance -to theatregoers.''
