Mr. John Redmond, M.P., speaking at Sligo, ; advised Lord Rosebery to lead his ragged regiment of Imperialists to the Unionists' camp, leaving the Radicals to act with the Irish. The United Irish League possessed . a greater power than either the once-powerful Land or the National Leagues. If Mr. Wyndham tried coercion the last vestige of landlordism in Ireland would be swept away.
