NORTHCOTE THE HARBOUR BOARD ARE DOING.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—During the- summer months, more particularly in the holidays, I suppose there are few places more frequented i>y school children and their friends than the shores of the Waitemata in the neighbourhood of Northcote, yet this bay is now being made the dumping-ground by the Harbour Board for their filthy dredgings, and so shortly the poisonous state of the beaches will stop their uses for a health resort. Surety there are many other places that can be used for this purpose without making such a nuisance and menace to the public health m this great public resort.— am, etc., Visitor. Grey-street, Auckland, November 27, 1901.
