(Received November 27, 5.42 p.m.)

Sydney, November 27. B::auttfiti.lt cool weather was experienced to-day for the continuation of the cricket match between the English team and the New South Wale 3 representatives. The wicket was fiery and crumbling a little. The Englishmen began badly, Clarke getting Jones and Jcssop without their adding to the score. Lilley then partnered Tylde3ley, and both altered the complexion of the game. They hit out all round, playing Clarke freely, Lilley making some- fine strokes, and hitting three, fourers off Clarke in succession. Tyldesley, at 46, gave a difficult chance in the slips, which Clarke was not quick enough to take. Liliey saved his life a little later at Howell's hands. A change of bowling to Trumpet- and Hopkins proved expensive, and Howell and Clarke came on again. The latter with his first hall tempted Tyldesley, who skied one to Trumper at mid-off. The partnership added 89. Braund joined Lilley. After Turtch Lilley scored five, when Trumper came on in place of Clarke, and Lilley lifted one back to Trumper in his second over. G'unn followed with a brief and inglorious innings. He poked feebly at one from Howell, which scattered his wicket. Braund was playing soundly, and Barnes, the last man, knocked up 13, when Howell got his wicket. New South Wales won by 53 runs.
