SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MAORIS.
[BY telegraph.press association] Wellington, Monday. Ike Inspector of Native Schools proposed to the trustees of the late Sir Donald McLean scholarships at Te Aute Native College that the sum of money available, £105 annually, should be diverted to certain scholarships at the Maori primary schools in the colony. It has been decided, however, not to make any alteration in the McLean scholarship conditions so far as the coming examinations are concerned.
