Paris, October 15. The balloon of Count Vauex, the French aeronaut who is attempting to cross the Mediterranean to Algiers, has been sighted half-way across the Mediterranean.

Count Vauex dropped into the sea. A French cruiser rescued him.

Paris, October 10
Vauex was 41 hours aloft. Contrary winds drove the balloon in the direction of the Pyrenees and he voluntarily dropped into the sea.
