During his visit to Canada, McGill University will confer the degree of Doctor of Laws upon the Duke of Cornwall and York. ; Perth, July 24. The Duke of Cornwall and York yesterday laid the foundation of a memorial to the soldiers who fell in South Africa, presented the war medals, reviewed the troops, and held a levee at Government House. In the presence of a distinguished company ear-Admiral Beaumont was created a Knight Commander of St. Michael and St. George. In the evening the Royalties attended a State concert.
