THE OPERA HOUSE.

! TO TUB EDITOR. 3ir,—l have noticed some correspondence lately about the Opera House discomforts, but one, and to my mind a most glaring one, has not been mentioned. I refer to the necessity for a portico to the circle and stall entrances, or, better still, a verandah right along the whole way. At present it is very hard that no provision is made foi those standing awaiting the opening of the doors either from wet or, in case of matinees, glaring sun. . Patrons ot the dress circle also should not, on leaving their carriages in wet weather, have to cross a muddy footpath in the pouring rain. Trusting that a word to the wise is sufficient.— am, etc., W H. Hood. Loftus Villa, Norman-street, July 24-, 1„01.
