It was stated that the repairs which have, just been started in Queen-street are being carried out in a most unscientifio manner, and that the funds of the city are being practically thrown away. The secretary of the league produced samples of road metal put down in Queen-street, which measured sin by 3in. He also stated that the roadway was .-V being picked very roughly, : and that all the .. mud of the ; old roadway was left under the new metal being spread, also that although the metal was being put down, the road roller was not available, and that the traffic was being allowed to churn the metal up before it was rolled. It was resolved that'the secretary should interview the city engineer on the subject, and that if it was not possible to secure r an improvement in any other way, that a deputation should wait on the City Council, and strongly represent the unsatisfactory state of affairs. - .■-,■■■
