VOLUNTEERING NEWS.
COASTGUARDS V. GORDONS. Ok Saturday afternoon the Devonport Coastguard Artillery and the Gordon Rifles fired a match of five men a-side at the Mount Eden range. The conditions were seven shots each with the carbine and seven shots each with the new magazine rifle, at 200 yds; competitors exchanging weapons for the purpose. It was intended to fire at 500 yds also, but owing to the rain that range had to be abandoned. The following are the scores:--COASTGUARDS. • Carbine. Rifle. ■ Tl.
