DEATH OF MISS ORMEROD.

By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright. (Received July 20, 8.7 p.m.) s London, July 19. Miss Eleanor A. Ormerod, LL.D., the well-known authority on agricultural entomology, is dead. Miss Ormerod was. the third daughter of Mr. George Ormerod, D.C.L., F.R.S., author of " The History of Cheshire." She was educated at Home,- and was at one time additional examiner in agricultural entomology in connection with the University of Edinburgh. The • Societe National© d'Acclimatation do France awarded her the large silver medal bearing the portrait of Geoffrey Saint Hilaire in 1899. She was the author of several books on. insect life. Miss Ormerod was a great lover of flowers, and her favourite recreation was the personal attention and superintendence of her garden.
