A semi-official statement published here, after referring to the astonishment expressed in Great Britain at the retention of SCO German troops at Shanghai, announces thai, a proportion of. the German troops will remain in China til! the peace negotiations are absolutely settled. French, Russian and Japanese brigades will also remain.
