ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Invkrcakgill, Thursday. The trial of Charles Arnett, charged with attempting to poison White and Cordon, at Edtrudale, in October last, has concluded. The jury retired at half-past five p.m., and at ten p.m. the foreman having said there was no probability of the jury agreeing, His Honor discharged them, and said he would make an order for the prisoner to be tried again during the present sittings. The Crown Prosecutor said he had purposed going on with the indictment against Arnett. charging him with attempting to murder Chas. Milne, the man whose money he is alleged to have stolen, and who was not included in the charge just heard. Tuesday next was fixed for the hearing.
