AUCKLAND SHAREMARKLT. Thi irarket was quiet yesterday. In investment lines New Zealand Insurances sold at 68s. with buyers still offering that pi ice, Boilers 695. Leyland-O'Briens had sale at Sis, late buyers 30s 6d, without sellers. There was sustained inquiry for Bank of New Zealands at 475, sellers 525. Other Btocks were in fair demand. In mining lines Kuranui-Caledonians changed Lands at 9d, and May Queen-Haurakis at £>id. In Upper Thames lines Chelmsfords were done at Is 9d, more being offered at 2s, v..tout buyers. Waihi Intendeds sold at 4s 9d, 4s lOd, and 4s 9d, sellers closing at »s lod. buyers 4s Bd. Pride of Waihis (bulged hands at sd, and Waihi Beach Umteds at Sjd. In Coromandel and other lines late prices ruled.
BUNKERS HILL. Tbt TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Coromandel, Friday. The crushing at the public battery of 21 lons of general ore and 281b of pick:dstone gave a vield of 41oz 9d\vt of gold, valued at £125 7s Bd.

Things in Can-ill's mine are looking very promising, and there is abetter show in this Oection of the mine during the last few days.
DREDGING.
[BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Hokitika, Friday. The Grey River Consolidated dredge will be ready to start work in about 14 days. Important developments are in connection with dredging on the_ West Coast, namely, the investment of English capital in dredging areas between Hokhika and Ross. A cable message has been received from the attorney of a syndicite m London to the effect that the successful flotation of the Tasman and Golden Gravels dredging areas is practically assured. These areas are situated on the old bed of the Hokitika River, between Hokitika and Koss. There are ten claims of 80 acres each, and all have been bored with excellent residts The transaction will involve the investment pf between £60,000 and £100,000. Dunedin. Friday. Dredging returns: Cromwell, 87oz ldwt ; Sailors' Bend, 85oz; Hartley and Riley, 550z fldwt; Alpine Consols, 2oz 13dwt 9gr; Gold Queen. 14oz 6dwt ; Inch Valley. 10oz 4dwt ; Alpine No. 11., 9oz 15dwt; Blue Duck, soz 2dwt; Chat to Creek, 4oz od.vt llgr; Vincent. 3oz 7dwt. A rise in the rivers has caused nearly all working in Kawarau and Molyneattr to close down temporarily. The temperature is high, and the rivers will go down slowly. As the returns from Chatto Creek show no improvement, the dredge has been closed down.
