THE REV. W. COLENSO.

[l)Y TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, Friday. A TABLET has just been erected in the Cathedral by the Synod of Waiapu to the memory of the late Rev. W. Coienso. The inscription, alter giving the date of his arrival in the colonics, and of his death, proceeds: — He Has New Zealand's first printer, and published the New Testament in Maori in December, 1837. He came to reside in Napier as missionary in 1844. As scientist and philanthropist, his name will ever be associated with the worthies of his adopted country."
