THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.

[by TELECBATO. OWN' CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Wednesday. Ax the monthly meeting of the Thames County Council this evening a letter was received from Mr. R. McDonald Scott, secretary of the Broken Hill Mine, Waiomo, requesting that the road leading from the beach up to the Monowai Company's battery be put into a state of repair for carting over. it was decided to inform the writer that the Council had only recently expended a sum of £200 on the road in question, and was now proceeding with further improvements.

The mine manager (Mr. J. O'Sullivan) of the Thames Talisman wrote requesting that a sledge track be formed from the junction of the Alabama and Karaka creeks up to his company's mine, so that ore could be brought down to a battery. It was resolved to carrv out the work asked for.

A circular was received from the Southi land County Council, requesting the Thames County Council to consider a series of suggested amendments to the Looal Authorities Bill r< last session. The matter was referred to the chairman and secretary to report upon. A request from the Thames Borough Council for permission to place a fire plug on the county's Gin main, at the cornel of Pollen and Cochrane Streets, and another main at the corner of Pollen and i' iliou Streets, was granted. The district coroner (Mr. A.
