ALLEGED ABDUCTION.
SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST TWO FOREIGNERS. Alpiion.se Louis Goossexs, 26, and Guillaurne Michel*, 18, were brought before Mr. Marsliam. at Bow-street, on a provisional warrant charging them with abduction within the jurisdiction of the Belgian Government. Detective-Inspector M'Carthy said that he saw Goossens in Little Rupert-stieet. Witness told him, in French, he would be arrested on a warrant granted that day. charging him with being concerned in abducting young girls from Belgium. Goossens replied, " I don't know anything about it. - About 'four in the morning witness went with Detective-Sergeant Kyd and other officers to 30. Fitzroy-street. He went to a room on the first floor front, and knocked at the door. Someone inside said, in French. " Who's there''" Witness replied, in French, " Police : open the door." He heard a window opened and shut. and. as the door was not opened, he forced it, He found in the room two men and two gins—one under IS. the other under 16. On opening the window witness found Michei.s crouching on the verandah. The room was a mere slip, nine feet by four. When the warrant was read, Michels said. " Yes. 1 have been living with some of the girls." Mr. Marsham: Where do the girls come from? Inspector M'Cartby: They were brought over from Belgium, and have been supporting the prisoners. Goossens now said he could not understand why he was charged with abducting one of the girls. as he had been accused, at Marlborough-street Police Court, with living on her immorality, and acquitted. Prisoners were remanded.
