THAMES BOROUGH COUNCIL.
[BY TKLEOR.U'H- —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Thursday. Amongst' the business transacted at the Thames Borough Council meeting this evening was the following:— Mr. .T. M. Foy, a late member of the Council, wrote, resigning Ids position as the Council's representative on the Thames Charitable Aid and Thames Hospital Boards, the Fire Brigade Committee, and the Cemetery Committee. The letter was received, and Mr. W. Burton was appointed as the Council's representative on the Charitable Aid and Hospital Boards, and Mr. Loughlin on the Fire Brigade Committee and the Cemetery Committee. A resolution was pp.ssed, agreeing to the Council being assessed to the amount of £236 15s 4d for the Thames Hospital Board for the ensuing year, and £151 2s 3d for the Thames and Coroniandel United Charitable Aid Board. A letter was received from the fire brigade requesting that the Council should meet tiio brigade for the purpose of discussing matters with ? view to increasing the efficiency of (he water supply at limes of outbreaks of fire. It was resolved to request the brigade to put in writing any suggestions it has to make on the subject, when the Council would consider the same. The Council decided to offer a reward of 10s in future to tho first fireman to turn on the waW from the county main to the borough main in Albert-street when an alarm of fire occurred. Permission was granted to the Thames Drainage Board to hold its next monthly meeting in the Council's Chamber on the 3th inst
