WAIHI NEWS NOTES.

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI, Thursday. WAIHI BOROUGH ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Waihi Improvement Committee was held on Tuesday night, April 30, in the c'tubroom. of Flett's Hotel. Mr. Peter McGregor was voted to the chair. The present position of the borough movement was exp'ained by Messrs. Haslett, A. y. Ross Simms, and the chairman. The following resolutions were unanimously carried: — " That the name of the Waihi Improvement Committee be changed to that of the Waihi Borough Association, and that registration of the same be at once effected." " That all Waihi householders be eligible for membership of the association on the payment of Is." " That the officers consist of a president, five vice-presidents, a secretary and treasurer, and a working committee of nine; that Mr. A. Y. Ross act as secretary pro. tern." "That the Minister for' Mines be requested to reserve all water-rights adjacent to Waihi, until a sufficient domestic supply has been secured for the town, and that a cony of this resolution be forwarded to the Warden, Paeroa." " That all members of the Waihi Improvement Committee be included as members of the Waihi Borough Association."
