THE LATE ROBERT FARQUHAR.
Ri.FEr.niNG to the death of Mr. Robert Farquhar. our Wellington correspondent states : —"The; deceased had been twelve years in South Africa, when, at lite beginning of the war, he joined Brabant's Horse, and took part in some of the earlier engagements in the war. He sustained a severe internal injury by his horse falling upon him, and he was invalided Home. He took a trip to England, and it was thought lie was in a fair way of recovery. He returned to Wellington about six weeks since, but, as the result of over-exertion, his internal wound broke out afresh, and he was sent to the Wellington Hospital. His father arrived a few days since with a view to taking his son home to Auckland. Captain Farquhar had reason for the belief that his sou would recover. No one about the young man thought his death was imminent, but on Wednesday evening the invalid took a turn for the worse, and shortly after expired. Arrangements have been made for taking the body to Auckland for interment. The brave voting soldier was only 30 years of age. Universal sympathy is felt for Captain Farquhar."
