COCIIBAKP. and Son sold by auction to-day a property of 41£ acres, Parish of Waiau, fronting the Jlauku River, for 10s per acre; also, 4-0-acres at Komokiriki, for 15s per acre. A largo property at Orere, and a small improved farm at Port Albert, were passed Jin, the bidding not reaching the reserve prices.
KAURI GUM MARKET. The following are- our quotations of kauri gum for the week ending April 30, 1901 :•-- White gum: Poor ordinary, £20 to £23; good ordinary, unpicked, £'13 and upwards: superior ordinary, £65 e:\cl upwards; East Coast (good quality), £65 and upwards), rescraped, £112 and upwards. Black gum: Nuts, £8 and upwards; mixed, £15 and upwards; good, £48 and upwards. Remarks on market: Arrivals for the month of April, 560 tons. Oats : There is fair demand for good to bright feed sorts, but milling is more difficult to sell. Prime milling, Is 4Jd to Is 5d ; good to best feed. On Thursday, about 350 head of cattle were yarded, mostly calves and young stock, only a few dairy cows were offered. Good calves are still selling readily at ruling prices. Those in low condition were, however, not, in brisk demand.
