Under the powers given by the Road Board Act, 1882, the Public Health Act, 1876, the Public Works Act, 1894, ana the Dog Registration Act, llißo, and the Amendments thereof respectively, and all other Statutes it thereunto enabling. Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of tiie Mount Wellington Road Board will be held on MONDAY, tile 13th day of May, 1901, at 2.30 o'clock in the afternoon, at the Office of tho Board, Bella-street, Elleralie, when tne subjoined resolution will be proposed: That the proposed By-laws affecting Roads and Streets and Area within the jurisdiction of. the Board (deposited at the Cilice oi 'the Board), the object or purport of which is hereunder set forth, to be made and adopted, viz.:— Forbidding riding or leading any horse or other animal on any footpath. Allowing- timber or any heavy material to be dragged. Forbidding rattle to be at large without proper guidance, or to wander. Forbidding any machine or any vehicle to be left oil any road or street so as unlawfully to obstruct free passage. Forbidding any offensive matter being spilt. Forbidding any material being left upon any road, street, channel, or surface draiii, bo as to obstruct or endanger persons using such road. Providing for owner or occupier to provide and keep earth, ashes, or lime to be used as a deodoriser. Forbidding any privy or earth closet being erected at less than 15 feet from any house, dwelling, road, " street, or footpath. ; Providing that all privies, earth closets, J and house drains shall be under the control of the Board. I Authorising the Board to provide for the regular removal from any build- ' ing within the jurisdiction of the 1 Board, as hereafter defined, of any house rubbish, nightsoil, dung slops, 1 filth, or refuse of any kind. . Powers of Inspectors of Nuisances or 1 Surveyors to be appointed by the Board. . . ' Cubical size of boxes for privies and ' closets, and for providing deodorising substances. Backyards or premises injurious to health. Forbidding burying nightsoil or any dead animal in any yard, garden area, or paddock less than 3 acres, 5 within the proscribed area mentioned , ' in such By-laws. 1 Forbidding offensive liquor or matter to run from any manufactory, building, or place. ... Forbidding offensive liquor or matter to , run from land or premises. 1 Forbidding the burning of straw or other material without written consent ot the Board. Forbidding throwing or discharging any stone or other missile from any catapult or other instrument. Forbidding the droppings from the eaves of any house or verandah. Providing for lights for bicycles and ■I tricycles and alarm bell after sunset and before sunrise, and provision as E to meeting or passing any vehicle or i- horse or person. _ , i- Dogs rushing at, attacking, or startling any person, horse, cattle, or other animal, an offence. . Every registered dog to wear registered collar continuously. Forbidding depositing rubbish on any road or street. Forbidding keeping any swine or pigs so as to be a nuisance or injurious to health, and no pig-stye or receptacle >, for pigs' swill shall be within 100 feet of any house, road, street, or by-way. Violation of By-laws, penalties not exceeding £5. Such proposed By-laws are open to the inspection of all Ratepayers during Office hours, 10 to 12, Mondays and Thursdays, for 30 days . immediately preceding the Meeting.
