[by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Invercargixl, Wednesday. The Southland Racing Club's races were held to-day. The weather was fair, but the course was somewhat heavy after two days' rain. , The sum of £2446 went through the totalisator, as against £1698 last ;'ear. The results are : —
Handicap Hurdles, one mile and threequarters : The Slumberer, 9st 121b, 1; Southerly Buster, 12st 91b, 2; Waikaia, lOst 91b, 3. The Earl was scratched. .Dividend, £3 ss.
Harness Trot, two miles: Mistake, ss. behind scratch, 1; Glenite, 55., 2; Bosworth, 3. Finance, Robert W., and Johnny 111. were scratched. Time, sm. 495. Dividends, £11 4s and 19s.
Autumn Handicap, one mile and a-quarter: Wild West, Bst 71b, 1; Blackpool, Bst, 2; Belligerent, Bst 121b, 3. Time, 2m. 13 2-ss'. Dividend, £3 12s.
Visitors' Plate, seven furlongs: Vantoon, 7st 71b, 1; Briny Breeze, Bst, 2: Light Brigade, 7st 121b, 3. Time, lm. 40 2-ss. Dividend, £4 7s.
Waihopai Steeplechase, two miles and ahalf: Pipi, list 71b, 1; Johnny, lOst 51b, 2; Ulysses, lOst 101b, 3. Time, sm. 17s. Dividend, £2 4s.
Flying Handicap, five furlongs: Gladys 11., Bsfc 101b, 1; Sharpsholl, Bst 51b, 2; Muscovite, 9st 31b, 3. Gold Ring was scratched. Time lm. 7s. Dividend, £3 ISs. Saddle Trot, two miles: Glenite, limit, 1; The Artist. 6s. behind scratch, 2; Oreti Pack, 3. Dividends, £6 3s and £4 7s.
