A new complication has arisen in connec< tion with Victoria's negotiations regarding the Cape cable. The Federal Postmaster states that the matter has become £ Federal subject, and cannot now be settled by any . one State. It involved a big question of policy, and cannot b& dealt with -with, un«, due haste. This practically puts an end to the negotiations as far as Victoria alone is concerned. NEW ZEALAND FEDERATION COM' MISSION. (Received April 10, 1.2. a.m.) , Adelaide, April 9. The New Zealand Federation Commission . have arrived here. They Were entertained at luncheon by the members of the State Government. . Mr. Kingston, Sir John Forrest, and the South Australian members of the Federal Parliament were also present.
