" ' The whole of the western wing of the large three-storey building "was gutted. Great damage was done by. water and smoke. The eastern wing is still smouldering in the basement. ; One hundred and thirty employees and a number of customers were inside at the time of the outbreak. The male employees lined up the main entrance, and.assisted all females to escape before they. themselves attempted to leave.
