DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY. The City Hall was packed in every part last Saturday night. Tho new first-part, "The Glade Scene," from the pantomime "Babes in the Wood," was staged, and evoked a loud outburst of applause on the rise of the curtain. It is a really pretty wood scene, and with the many coloured lights playing on it, presented a charming picture. The De Vella Sisters made a most successful reappearance, as did Mies Ethel Clifford, each of the items presented by them being loudly applauded. The De Vellas unique boxing act, as usual, created great interest. M:.. John Coleman appeared in a series of new items, all good and cleverly rendered. In the " Scarecrow" dance he introduced a number cf local youths, suitably attired, and the efforts ot these mannikins to copy Mr. Coleman and Miss Lome created uproarious fun. Miss Lome, in her descriptive and serio-comic items, also made a great hit. The last two nights of these artistes are announced. The Mintons' splendid clogdancing »raa, as usual, a great feature of the programme, the dancers throughout receiving continuous and genuine applause. The Leslies, Miss Nora Martin, Mr. Tom Davidson, Mr. Johnny Collins, and Mr. Charles Howard, all rendered good items.
