MASTERTON AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

[by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. The annual show of the Mastertou Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held today, in fine weather. The attendance was very large. The entries, which were the largest on record, were as follows : —Horses, 286; cattle, 116; sheep, 433: total, 835— as against 700 last year. The principal prize winners were:—Pigs: Berkshires, Black Brothers ; Tamworths, Chamberlain ; Yorkshires, Black Brothers. Sheep: Fat and freezers, W C. Buchanan, John Strang, Cooper, Perry Bros., Harris. H. Holmes, and Daysh ; Lincolns, Perry Bros. ; Leicester and Romneys, Robert Cobb; Southdowns, James Stuckey. and Williams and Beet&i».m. The championships in cattle were won as follows:—Shorthorns, J. McMaster; Herefords, J. Stuckey (bull), W. Beetham (cow) ; Ayrshires, E. M. Bannister ; Jersey, J. H. Billington and H. W. Clay. In fat cattle, W C. Buchanan, W. Mace, Williams and Beetham, and H. Holmes, were the principal prize winners. G. Mcintosh's Chainlink was the champion thoroughbred stallion ; J. and T. Wallis' liecord Reign the champion draught stallion ; and R. Johnston's Flora the champion brood mare.
