EDUCATION BOARD VACANCY
A special meeting of the Education Board was hold yesterday afternoon, there being present: Messrs. Bagnall (chairman), Blades, Farrell, Lamb, Luke, and McKenzie. The resignation of Mr. Tlieo. Cooper, wL.o has held office as a member of the Board continuously since 1883, was received, and on the motion of the Chairman a resolution was unanimously adopted recording the Beard's appreciation of the valuable services rendered by M.. Cooper during his membership, and conveying the congratulations of the Board on his appointment to the Supreme Court Bench. The arrangements fot- the election of a member to fill the vacancy were made as follows: Nominations to be received by March 12, date of election to be March 26, and the count of votes to take place on April 10. The election will take place under the new Act, under which the ©lectors are the individual members of the school committees of the Auckland district.
