She loads bark for Auckland. THE TAVIUNI. The Union. Company's steamer Taviuni is now duo from Fiji, and should arrive this morning. She leaves for Wellington direct upon discharge. § THE RAGLAN STEAMERS. § Consequent on the bad weather at Raglan | nr.d Kawhia, the trip of the Kanieri to these! ports from Onehunga this week will be i abandoned. The troopship Cornwall arrived from Wellington last night, anchoring in the stream shortly before 11 o'clock. The Cornwall left Wellington on Saturday evening last, but owing to bad weather did not clear the Heads until 11 o'clock the following morning. On the run up the coast, fine weather prevailed,! and the men and horses on hoard are all in j splendid condition. The Cornwall is an ideal troopship, and all on board speak in high terms of her appointments and seagoing capabilities. The steamer was built in 1895 by Messrs. R. and W. Hawthorn, Leslie, ai.J Co. (Limited), Newcastle, England, for the Federal S.N. Co.. of London. She. is a steel screw steamer of 5490 tons register, is 420 ft long, 54ft broad, and 28.7 ft deep. Her engines are on the triple-expansion principle, and ares capable of driving the steamer along at the rate of a, little over 10 knots per hour. The I Cornwall will be berthed at the Railway! Wharf at 5.30 a.m. to-day, and leaves for South Africa in the afternoon.
