8 TO THE EDITOR ' ■ . Sir, —Visiting Onehunga last week after i tho lapse of some seven years, among other j things I wended my way to I the Church ol j England cemetery to seo tho graves of several 1 old frionds known years ago.! ; 1 was pleased Ito friends neat-kept graves, gravel pleased : to see the neat-kept graves, gravel walks, | grass beautifully ■ cut, and lovely flowers n everywhere—a credit to the vicar, church | wardens, and friends of the departed. After 1 a short .time I turned my. stops to the Rojj man Catholic churchyard. ;. On entering, the - Agate one could \, not hut be struck with the v . | fine noble brick church, but, • alas! the ( • I grounds around are shamefully neglected. I The graves are ill-kept, the fences are broken I down; there are no paths, and the whole lof the cemetery is overgrown with weeds ;■: | and rubbish; in fact, a "perfect wilderness. | Why the priest of the ' parish and the Roj man Catholic people of Onehunga have allowed their God's acre to fall into such a J state is hard to imagine. I pen this letter I hoping it may stir those up having charge • lof the Onehunga Roman Catholic cemetery |to some sense of their duty and respect for I their dead, and not have it said that the I Onehunga Roman Catholic cemetery is the I worst-kept in, I may say, New Zealand.— II am, etc., A "Visitor to Onehunga. i —
