Lyne and I Mr. O'Sullivan, representing the CommonI wealth and State Governments, took farewell ! of the visitors. : | Sir W. Lyne, in proposing Mr. Carroll's 1 health, thanked New Zealand for the honour I conferred by sending representatives to the I Federal celebration. He hoped the day was I not far distant when New Zealand would go I hand in hand with the Federation. ; I Mr. Carroll thanked Sir W. Lyne. He s said the unbounded hospitality shown, and I the kindness of the past few weeks, had done i more to foster a friendly spirit between the j Commonwealth and New Zealand than any- ] thing else could have accomplished. Mr. Fraser also returned thanks. | Sir W. Lyne, in proposing the health of I the Huddart-Parkor Company, expressed the hope that the time would not be long j when the company would do its part in bringing the two countries closer together by fast steamers. Much had been done in the past, and he could confidently look to the future to effect further improvements. Mr. Kendall, on behalf of the company, suitably responded.
