A RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

When the express train from this South came in half-an-hour late } last -night, a rumour spread that a man had been killed by it at Rolleston. Fortunately this turned out to be incorrect. It appears lhat when tho train pulled up at Rolleston some pas- 1 eengers informed the guard that a. man had I fallen off the train, and"a search party went ; back to look for him, and the express came j on to town. They found a man ramed Pat- ; rick Coffee, a labourer from Timkru,, lying alongside tho line groaning. Tbfcy..'carried j him to Rolleston Junction, and t»legraphed to town for a special, train, which went out ' in charge of the Ashley goods agent, and j brought the man to town. On bting taken : to the hospital he was found to b> suffering j from a bad fracture of the elbow oi the right ; arm. Coffee remembers nothing about the accident until he found himself off the train, j being much under the influence & drink. ■ ■" " ' " " .'. s'')
