THE CHRISTCHURCH DESTRUCTOR.
[NY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] C'HRiSTCHintcir, Monday. At the City Council this evening the Sanitary Committee recommended'that the dcstructor, which will arrive soon, be erected in the Council's central yard at the corner of Manchester and Gloucester Streets,' and close to Armagh-street. A deputation of citizens waited on the Council and protested against this site. A proposal was made by some councillors that a site be selected in the south-western corner of the city, but this was rejected, and the committee's report adopted. Dr. Thacker, who was among those who objected, stated that fine, dust fell from the Wellington destructor and affected vegetable substances, and the" same might happen here. -
