SELLING LIQUOR WITHOUT A LICENSE.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. A Chinaman, Won Sow, on R-hose premises liquor was seized a few days ago, was fined £5 this morning for selling without a license to a compatriot. The police stated that they found 800 bottles of one Chinese liquor, 24 of another, and 82 of a third. Such liquors usually passed the Customs as medicinal wine, and that seized had already paid duty. The magiitrate ordered the liquor to be kept, pending an application to the Government, that it be not confiscated, but returned to the defendant.
