The foreman of works reported that the cost of building an embankment 1000 ft long and sft above high-water mark west of Hobson-street, in line with Quay-street, would be, concrete £26,500, rubble £115,000, timber £8500. The matter was deferred until the question of funds was gone into, the foreman of works to carry out the necessary repairs to the breastworks. The question of a retainingwall from Nelson to Hobson Streets and the Mechanics' Bay embankment were also deferred for the same reason. Messrs. Julian, Alison, and Niccol were appointed a subcommittee to consider the plans and specifications prepared by Mr. Loweish for the Admiral's House, the committee to prepare a report, to be brought before the Board at next meeting. - . ,
